Ron Kraus
Chief Executive OfficerRon has over 25 years of life science industry experience and has held several executive leadership positions in both public and private equity-backed companies. Prior to joining Syner-G, he was the Chief Operating Officer at Cytel, a leading provider of clinical trial design solutions, where he was responsible for driving profitable growth of their Services business. At Parexel, he was the Global Head of their Consulting Business and led the 1000+ employee unit on a robust growth journey via a combination of organic growth, entering new markets and acquisitions. A common theme throughout his career is a passion for building expert teams and businesses that provide unparalleled support in the development of life-saving therapies.
Stephen Coté, CPA
Chief Financial OfficerStephen is a finance executive with hands-on experience working with leadership teams, investors, boards of directors, and financial institutions in global companies with $3MM to $375MM in annual revenues. He’s an innovative leader with an established record of success in growing enterprise value through international expansion, a focus on growth and profit improvement, and cash flow optimization. Prior to joining Syner-G, he held senior positions at smartShift Technologies, Lux Research, and TowerGroup.
Karen Casey
Chief People OfficerKaren brings 30 years of global human resources leadership across PE backed organizations to Fortune 500 companies as a senior Human Resources leader, now as a sitting member of the C-Suite for Syner-G BioPharma Group as confidant to executive leadership, bringing a pragmatic approach of “progress over perfection” to deliver on business results that align with organizational imperatives and a growth strategy. Her expertise spans the people and culture discipline to include building HR from the ground up, mergers and acquisitions, talent strategy and design, employment branding, internal communications, team building and strategic facilitation. Karen and her teams have led People and Culture transformations whose accomplishments have been awarded and chronicled by many industry leading associations and publications.
Brandy Bullen
Chairman of the Board, Sequoia Biotech ConsultingWith over 20 years of experience in the life sciences industry, Brandy is a dynamic leader and trusted advisor to organizations undergoing transformative growth. Before founding Sequoia Biotech Consulting, she built high-impact teams for industry giants like Invitrogen, Biogen, Genentech, and Illumina. In 2013, Brandy founded Sequoia to address the growing demand for highly skilled professionals in the life sciences sector. Today, Sequoia employs over 450 consultants dedicated to helping life science companies in their mission to advance human health. Her influence extends beyond Sequoia, as she serves on the Board of Trustees for Ronald McDonald House Charities San Diego and was recognized as a finalist for San Diego Business Journal’s Business Women of the Year in 2022 and 2023. In her personal time, Brandy loves to surf, practice yoga, and enjoys quality time with her family.
Dan Ramsey
EVP Technical OperationsDan Ramsey oversees Technical Operations and Facilities Engineering at Sequoia Biotech Consulting, where he is highly regarded for his ability to cultivate a “can do” mindset among his teams, empowering them to confront complex challenges head-on. With an extensive background in plant and energy management, GMP manufacturing facility operations, and global leadership in facility expansion initiatives, Dan has directed facilities and engineering for leading biopharmaceutical manufacturing organizations. His passion for overcoming obstacles drives him to achieve success in situations that others often deem impossible, continually motivating his team to challenge conventional processes and deliver outstanding results for Sequoia’s clients.
In addition to his thriving career, Dan has made significant contributions to the life sciences and biotechnology community as President and Board Member of the ISPE Boston Chapter. He is also credited with founding both the Boston and international programs for ISPE Emerging Professionals, highlighting his commitment to nurturing the next generation of industry leaders.
Dan earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering and his Master’s degrees from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. He is actively involved in several professional organizations, including ISPE, PDA, and AFE. Dan’s dedication to the field and his unwavering pursuit of excellence make him an invaluable asset to both Sequoia and the broader life sciences community.
